Meet Dr Adrienne Viljoen
Dr Adrienne grew up on a farm out in the Free State in a very small town called Frankfort.
She studied at Onderstepoort and obtained her Bachelors in Veterinary Science in 2007, after which she decided to specialize in Equine Internal Medicine. Her post-graduate studies were done through the University of Pretoria in conjunction with the European College of Equine Internal Medicine, and she finally became board certified with the European College of Equine Internal Medicine in 2016.
Dr Adrienne lives in Pretoria and practices at the Equine Clinic at Onderstepoort Veterinary Academic Hospital. “I’ve been told that l was just born with a love for horses, as l am the only one in the family with this interest. Working with these beautiful animals has always been my dream since I was a child. I don’t really have a special interest. Learning and discovering new things and facts is always exciting, and horses have the ability to keep you grounded.” Her favourite animal is her horse, Mr B. When asked what advice she would give to every horse owner, she answered: “Insure your horses 😂😂😂 nee regtig!”
