Meet Brand Ambassador Suzelle Myburgh and her royal highness Queen Isabella
She has been riding since 2006 as a recreational activity at a riding school in Potchefstroom. As soon as she got her own pony, they moved to Jan van Deventer’s yard, and her competitive career started soon after that. When asked where it all started, she said: “Our family are all animal lovers. I got my love & passion for horses from my mother and father. They were both equestrians when they were teenagers. I will always be grateful for my Mom & Dad who gave me the opportunity to make Equestrian my sport. My dad, unfortunately, passed away in 2012, and I then stopped riding due to financial reasons. I started riding again in 2021, and I was privileged enough to buy Queenie. She is a very talented young horse, and an absolute pleasure to train. I am excited for our future together. We are the perfect team. She is not just my horse, she is my teammate and my best friend.”
Suzelle’s goal for 2022 is to compete in the Young Horse Performance Series (4-year-old category) and to successfully compete in the Graded Equitation Classes.
Queenie tilts her head and gives kisses when asking for carrots. She also thinks she is a puppy, and will follow Suzelle around everywhere she goes. Queenie also loves taking afternoon naps in her paddock. She will lie flat on her side, sleep, and just enjoy the good life at Maneline Equestrian where she is stabled.
“I have a wonderful support system, and I am truly grateful for that. A special thank you to my family, friends, stable yard, instructors and grooms who always has my back and keeps me motivated.”
