What inspired you to become a rider?
I always saw all these movies of all these people horse riding when I was younger, always making it look like so much fun, as well as my grandparents living in an equestrian estate, always in awe of all the riders.
For you, what are the most rewarding aspects of being a rider?
When all of your hard work starts to pay off, as well as watching your horse off the track gain his confidence in jumping whilst performing at the same time.

What’s your favourite memories or experiences related to riding?
Doing my first year of SANESA on my 4-year-old and making it to nationals, as well as making it into the Gauteng team for 70cm.
What’s your favourite go-to to prepare yourself and your horse for competitions or events?
A good training lesson with my coaches, Lauren Courtenay and Samantha Hardcastle.

What challenges have you faced in your riding journey, and how have you overcome them?
I had a terrible fall at the beginning of 2023 with my horse, where the pole got caught between his front legs, causing him to fall with me on top of him. Luckily we were both fine, just a few grazes. But he was always eager to be better based on his talent and ability to please; he sprung right back into action, therefore I knew we were a team that was going to succeed.
What are your current riding goals and aspirations?
For this year, I’d like to go from competing 80’s and reach new height in the 90’s, and improve in my dressage. With having a 5-year-old horse, I understand the challenges ahead of us and I am willing to put in the time and effort to reach our goals.
Do you have a favourite horse that you’ve ridden, and what makes them special?
My current horse that I own, Reef Bound, is a 5-year-old OTTB with an eager and pleasing temperament and such a kind and loving personality, as well as his drive to succeed, always willing to learn new things.
In your opinion, what stands out the most about ARCO360?
Their encompassing insurance cover, with being very inclusive.
What aspect of ARCO360 gives you the most peace-of-mind when it comes to your horse’s wellbeing?
Knowing that my horse’s needs are their highest priority.
